Above and Beyond Charities is a charitable trust committed to enhancing patient and staff amenities in Bristol hospitals. Since its establishment in 1974, the charity has raised over £50m generated through fund-raising events and donations. This has made a substantial difference to improving to the quality of facilities, has helped to support staff training and medical research, and will continue to fund projects that benefit patient care throughout University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. The Hospitals supported by Above and Beyond Charities include:
Over the years Above and Beyond Charities have organised, supported and enjoyed a variety of successful fundraising activities including the Premier Inn abseil, Bristol’s Half Marathon and the Hollyoaks celebrity football match. The charity hosts a number of fundraising events throughout the year, and all funds raised are used entirely for the benefit of Bristol hospitals’ patients and staff.
The Heart of Bristol Appeal is helping enhance the new Bristol Heart Institute with funds generated through online donations, sponsored events and activities. The appeal will contribute £800,000 towards the latest medical equipment and technology, and to create a friendly and welcoming environment.
Above and Beyond Charities welcome any contribution you are able to make towards improving Bristol’s healthcare facilities. Possible contributions range from making a donation online to leaving a legacy in your will; and if you wish you can choose to support a particular Department in which you are interested.
