Celebrating Another Great Year

The great and the good gathered for the Above & Beyond Annual Celebration.
Lord Leutentant of Bristol, Mary Prior joined Above & Beyond Chairman, Richard Dixon and Director, Sarah Talbot-Williams to say thank you to all those who have supported the charity in 2009.
It's been a busy year with the Heart of Bristol Appeal exceeding its £800,000 target, the subsequent opening of the much anticipated Bristol Heart Institute, the launch of the CaRE Appeal, a new director, new trustee and a calender of fundraising events that saw the brave and the good do some amazing things.
As guests enjoyed wine and nibbles, Dr Franco Cuilli and Dr Andreas Baumbach demonstrated the state of the art tele-medicine facilities now being used at the Bristol Heart Institute. Funded by Above & Beyond, the equipment allows the Cardiac team to interact with heart centres around the world.
Sarah Talbot- Williams told guests that the charity was tremendously grateful for all the support gained so far. She said, "If we are to turn goals into achievements and make a real difference to healthcare in Bristol we need to engage with the community across the whole region. We are committed to enhancing the patient experience in every aspect of their care. I hope you will join us for an exciting journey in 2010."
